MURAT AYIK, D.D.S.

Founder & Chairman

Dr. Ayik started his career at the Tennessee Technological University where he completed his undergraduate education. He then attended the College of Dentistry at the University of Tennessee where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After completing his DDS, Dr. Ayik joined the United States Navy and earned a commission as a Naval Officer. He served four years before earning an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) certificate at the Naval Medical/Dental Center in San Diego. Once he completed his time with the Navy, he began an advanced specialty training program for root canal procedures and endodontic microsurgery at the Health Science Center of the Baylor College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University.

Currently, Dr. Ayik holds board eligibility status from the American Board of Endodontics. He has published several research papers and articles covering the field of endodontics. One article he coauthored, Maximum Bite Force and Chewing Efficiency of Dental Implants and Endodontically Treated Teeth: a Preliminary Clinical Study, has been cited numerous times in professional dental literature. Dr. Ayik spends his spare time with his daughter Ayla.

ANTONIO BERTO, D.D.S.

Founder & Chief Dental Officer

Dr. Antonio Berto grew up in Spain and completed his formal dental training in Madrid. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in 2005 after working for Dr. Maria del Carmen Navarro, an Odonto-pediatric dentist, and Rafael Miñana, an Endodontist, at a private practice in Madrid Spain for Clinical Observation and Assistance. In 2006, Dr. Berto moved to the United States to continue his education at the Health Science Center of the Baylor College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University. He completed his Certificate in Endodontics in 2009.

Dr. Berto’s research on Physical and Chemical Properties of New-Generation Endodontic Materials has been published in the Journal of Endodontics, which is distributed by the American Association of Endodontics. It was also presented at the Annual meeting of the American Association of Endodontics. He continues to lecture internationally and across the United States while working on various research topics in the field of endodontics, including dental traumatology and dental and pulp regeneration.

Dr. Berto strives to achieve Diplomate status with the American Board of Endodontics and has been board eligible since 2009. His professional affiliations include the American Association of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, the Irving Dental Study Clubclub, where he served as Vice-President in 2012, the North Texas Hispanic Dental Association, where he served as President in 2013, the Spanish Dental Association, and the DFW Metroplex Endodontic Society, where he served as President in 2014. Dr. Berto’s extensive experience and rich background are a tremendous asset to the Woodhill Endodontics team.

William E. (Bill) Cook

Chief Executive Officer

As a consultant and corporate healthcare executive, Bill has more than 30 years experience in matters of strategic and business planning, organizational and market development, and financial management. With a professional focus primarily on the healthcare sector, Bill has represented an array of large health systems, individual hospitals, physicians and healthcare entrepreneurs throughout the U.S. in solving complex problems across a wide range of strategic, financial and organizational issues.

During his tenure of seventeen years as Vice President, Baylor Scott & White Health (“Baylor”) (formerly, Baylor Health Care System), Dallas, Texas, Bill had responsibility for many of Baylor’s most important strategic physician partnerships and ambulatory development initiatives. Specifically, he was responsible for the planning, development and management of Baylor’s employed physician network-HealthTexas Provider Network- (600 physicians and 200 practice acquisitions) and its associated physician practice management organization.Additionally, Bill oversaw the financial management and development of the organization’s real estate interests and for-profit operations including numerous joint ventures, affiliations and resource-sharing relationships with a wide-range of health care partners.

Bill began his professional career with Pricewaterhouse Coopers where he participated in forming various syndication arrangements as well as providing financial planning and tax consulting services domestically and internationally to a variety of industry sectors including healthcare, real estate, oil and gas and non-profits.

Bill graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, magna cum laude and received his Juris Doctor from the Baylor University School of Law.

Neal C. Moon

COO

Mr. Moon is a Member of Ayik+Berto and serves as the Chief Operating Officer.  Neal is also a Managing Member of Aspen Strategic Holdings.  He has been an active advisor and investor in growth-oriented companies for more than 15 years. Coming from an entrepreneurial background, his earliest experiences are rooted in private technical and industrial businesses engaged in healthcare, as well as energy exploration, energy pipeline construction and management, and specialty software and analyses solutions. This professional business foundation provides him with a deep understanding and appreciation for all aspects of company operations: planning, management, production, logistics, accounting and finance, as well as raising outside capital from investors. These experiences were subsequently broadened through a variety of management and investment opportunities chiefly related to healthcare, financial services, energy, and specialty software firms.

Dennis V. Marshall

CFO

Mr. Marshall is a Managing Member of Ayik+Berto and serves as the Chief Financial Officer.  Dennis is also a Managing Member of Aspen Strategic Holdings.  He brings more than 15 years of finance and strategy experience, working on a range of financing transactions across a number of assets and industry sectors – including general debt and equity financings, real estate development financings, acquisitions, and large-scale public-private partnerships. He previously was associated with The KMA Group (“KMA”), where he served as Managing Director and Principal structuring large-scale public-private financing transactions.  While at KMA, Dennis structured and led a $1 billion public-private financing transaction for the Toronto Transit Commission, as well as advised on a $127 million transaction for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority in Philadelphia. Prior to KMA, he served as General Manager and Chief Business Development Officer for the Chicago Transit Authority (“CTA”), the second largest public transportation system in the United States, and was responsible for strategy and business development in direct support of financing the CTA’s approximately $11 billion in capital assets.  While at the CTA, Dennis structured and led a $454 million public-private financing transaction.  Before the CTA, Dennis was Executive Vice President of Finance and Strategy for Williams Financial Group, an investment advisory and alternative investments firm headquartered in Dallas, Texas, managing over $7 billion in assets for high-net-worth individuals and family offices.

During his career, Dennis has served on several corporate boards, been involved with charitable organizations, and served as an intern for United States Senator and Democratic Whip, Richard J. Durbin of Illinois.

Dennis holds a Master’s degree in finance and public finance from The University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in economics from DePaul University.

DUANE REID

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Mr. Reid serves as the Chief Technology Officer for Ayik+Berto. In this role, he leads information technology and enterprise security efforts to develop and maintain a robust, scalable technical infrastructure, while mitigating evolving security threats. Duane is a 23-year technology veteran with a deep history in advanced virtualization, networking, security, enterprise storage, and cloud infrastructure operations in various roles with Take-Two Interactive Software, Oracle, Watts Water Technologies, Mazda’s North American Headquarters and Agilent. Duane also brings a decorated history of disaster recovery and business continuity planning, PCI, SOX, and SOC compliance to Ayik+Berto.
